What is the Raven Test? The Raven's Progressive Matrices Test is an intelligence test that relies entirely on visual patterns and images. It does not depend on language, mathematics, or any prior knowledge. The test consists of 60 matrices divided into five sets (A, B, C, D, and E). Each set contains 12 matrices. A matrix is a geometric design with one missing piece. Several answer choices (usually 6 to 8) are provided, and the task is to select the option that correctly completes the pattern. Within each set, the first matrix is usually straightforward and easy to solve, while the following matrices gradually increase in difficulty. The designs are carefully constructed to stimulate growing interest and challenge as the test progresses. Features of the Test are suitable for a wide age range, from 6 to 60 years old.
